Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)

Gynecomastia is the condition of enlarged or overdeveloped breasts on men in any age group. The procedure works to remove excess fat, glandular tissue and skin to reduce the size of the breast by flattening and enhancing chest contours.

The condition ranges from mild to severe, and all can be treated in surgery. In severe cases, the weight of the breast tissue may cause the sagging and stretching of the areola (the dark skin around the nipple). This procedure can reposition and resize the areola, while reducing the excess skin to create a more proportionate figure.

The Approach

This day surgery is performed under a general anesthetic in our fully accredited facility. Dr. Harris also uses a sutureless closure to ensure a less noticeable scar, which also offers his patients a microbial barrier and allows them to shower immediately following a procedure.
